Product Description:
The Excel 50, Excel 500 and Smart Excel controllers are general purpose programmable controllers.
Product Application(s):
All support general HVAC applications including air-handling units, chillers/boiler/central plant control and distribution systems, data acquisition, and other multi-equipment applications.
Excel 50, with 22 I/O points, is intended for small building control applications. Has optional built-in multi-function keypad (12 keys, 4 line x 16 character LCD display).
Excel 500 accommodates up to 16 modular boards with 128 I/O points plus 255 virtual points. The I/O modules are available in two styles. One mounts in a local housing and the other provides the flexiblity of remotely mounted via a LonWorks bus. The 500 uses a standard computer module.
The Smart Excel 500 accomodates up to 128 I/O points, 256 psuedo points, and 16 modular boards. Up to 512 Lon Works network variables can be mapped to internal data points. I/O modules can only be mounted via the LonWorks bus.

Programming Method(s)
Graphical/block programming using Excel CARE and Live CARE. Predefined elements, plants and control schematics are available for use within a standard macro library. Full custom programming is available. Additional programming can be accomplished using a mathematical editor for values from a combination of more than one user address. CARE programs can be downloaded to controller over the network or through the controllers local comm. port using the XI584 software.
